XSplit is a streaming and recording software that is powerful and convenient for different video content-producing uses. To produce engaging videos and streams using XSplit and Castr, simply follow this step-by-step guide.

Setup XSplit Broadcaster for Streaming with Castr

To connect Castr and XSplit, you'll have to use the Custom RTMP broadcast output in XSplit.

1. Open XSplit Broadcaster

2. Go to Broadcast > Set up a new output, then choose Custom RTMP

3. In the Custom RTMP Properties, enter the RTMP URL and Stream Key from your Castr Dashboard. Fill in the other details of the stream as your preferences.

4. Click OK to save the setup

Recommended Settings for Streaming with XSplit Broadcaster

To ensure your stream is delivered smoothly and without buffer, here are our recommended settings for streaming from XSplit to Castr:

  • Codec: x264

  • Mode: CBR

  • Keyframe: 2

  • Audio bitrate: 128 kbps

For the bitrates and resolutions of the output video, you can setup like the following:

  • For 720p:
    a) 30fps = 2500 – 4000 kbps bitrates
    b) 60fps = 3500 – 5000 kbps bitrates

  • For 1080p:
    a) 30fps = 3500 – 5000 kbps bitrates
    b) 60fps = 5000 – 6500 kbps bitrates
