Your finished live stream is recorded and saved as VOD files automatically using Castr's Live-to-VOD feature. You can now add your Live-to-VOD files to Pre-recorded streams and schedule for broadcasting for any destination you want.

How to Add a Live-to-VOD file to a Pre-recorded Stream

Method 1: From Live-to-VOD Tab on your stream dashboard

In the Live-to-VOD tab, under the Temporary Files section, you can find the stream recording being generated in real-time as you broadcast live.

In this section, you can choose to Save as VOD and save the entire stream or a certain portion of it as a Video on Demand. Once saved, click on the dropdown arrow, and select Create a pre-recorded stream.

From the dialog box, enter the stream name and then click Create Pre-recorded Stream.

You will be routed to the Pre-Recorded Stream tab. The file has been added to your pre-recorded stream.

Finish your setup for the Pre-recorded stream and it is ready to go live!

Method 2: From Pre-Recorded Stream Menu (Coming Soon)

In your Pre-recorded stream dashboard, click on the Add Video button, and select Live-to-VOD Folder.

Start selecting the Live-to-VOD file you want to schedule for streaming from the dialog.

Note: The size of the file and the number of files that can be added will depend on the subscribed plan.

Finish your setup for the Pre-recorded stream and it is ready to go live!
